Please join BAPEN in undertaking a national survey of adults and children requiring home enteral feeding.

We are asking for your help to record basic data for as many adults and children requiring home enteral feeding in your care as possible from the 22th November – 19th December 2021. There will be a small prize for the highest number of patient surveys submitted from England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Purpose of the survey

The survey will help us understand the national picture on home enteral feeding in adults and children across the UK in 2021. BAPEN will report on the survey data describing current trends and challenges associated with this nutritional treatment.

How do I access the survey?

The survey will be available online through a secure link on the BAPEN website - Access the online survey here.  The link will be live for 4 weeks from Monday 22nd November - Sunday 19th December 2021 (providing all corrections made by close of Friday 19th).

There is a simple registration process required before entering the first patient’s data. You do not need to re-register if you have previously done so for BAPEN’s survey of malnutrition in adults during Malnutrition Awareness Week this year.

About data entry

The system allows quick and easy input of data about each adult or child in your care requiring home enteral feeding. The data set includes demographics, type of tube and feed, complications and patient support. Testing of the survey suggests that it takes around 2 minutes to complete if the data is to hand.

Can I access the data I have entered?

The system can provide you with a summary of the data you enter. To receive this please tick the relevant box on registration.
